Kva Mary brings a playful energy to group singing, one of the most ancient “technologies of belonging” that we humans have been using since our earliest times. When we make joyous song together, it nourishes our souls and makes us feel our aliveness. But many modern humans have lost their connection to their own voices. How do I reclaim my voice and open to the medicine of song for my own healing and that of my community? Song is energetic medicine, used by mothers and medicine people to comfort, heal, soften what is difficult, bring power to ceremony and can be a companion in the processing of human experience. Voice is every human’s birthright. We will create a circle of safety and playfully explore our elemental Earth, Fire, Water, Metal & Air voices together. We’ll talk about cultural singing wounds and how to heal them, as well as how to introduce the medicine of song into your practice for healing and creating community.
Singing in a group is a powerful community building activity. Participants of any age learn simple songs in call and response style. Participants do not even have to sing, but can instead relax into the vibrational sound bath.
All voices welcome. You can not do this wrong. No music to read.
This workshop will be held outside with inside space reserved in case of rain.
