This workshop offers a space of a validation of who you are and where you are in this journey, as I share my path in African Tradition Religion. Many of us stumbled into spirituality like finally finding a safe, warm space after escaping a brutal, cold storm. This workshop, this place of veneration, is an extension of gratitude, validation and warmth from your travels. Your way, my way, our way, is enough.
De’Ja Hurte is a Black, Queer, Hoodoo practitioner and a licensed professional counselor in Tx and Fl. De’Ja has been practicing as a counselor for three years and has been tending to her Spiritual practice for six years. De’Ja’s “spiritual awakening” started in 2020 when she came to the realization that there had to be more. Since she was a child De’Ja has experienced prophetic dreams and had encounters that were life altering. Through mentorship, prayer, ancestral guidance and devotion to self, she has begun to find her way back.
