This workshop is based on my recent memoir, Yearning for Love – A Reluctant Divorcee’s Rocky Road to Nirvana. In writing my own story, I realized that the most painful event of my life catapulted me into a level of strength and confidence I had always wanted. Our session will explore the four pillars of growth I discovered as I clumsily rebuilt my life. The pillars are useful for anyone who has had to accept an unwanted loss and wants to unearth their own surprising, hidden vitality.
I am a lifelong facilitator, trainer and learner in my professional career and my current post-retirement journey.
I have studied multiple sacred traditions including the work of Jean Houston, Thich Nhat Hanh, Deepak Chopra, Sandra Ingerman and other bearers of wisdom. I am a certified Council Guide in an ancient Mayan practice and am currently in training to become a Sufi healer. In the last five years, I designed several courses including: the Magic of True Intention, Aging with Vitality, and Examining our Internal Allies and Saboteurs. In my work, I am committed to helping participants connect with the vitality and truth of their own spirit and the tools to make them shine.
In my professional career, I helped clients create inspiring visions in government, higher education, corporations and nonprofits for three decades. Sample clients include the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Metro Deaf School, the Nature Conservancy and the University of St. Catherine’s.
I have a B. A. in Psychology from Macalester College and a Masters in Creative Writing from Hamline University.
I am the author of Yearning for Love: A Reluctant Divorcee’s Rocky Road to Nirvana that received the Kirkus star in January 2025 for excellent nonfiction writing.
