In this storytelling experience, I share my experience of being a former people-pleaser incapable of saying no and how it led me to compassion fatigue and burnout, so badly that I had to walk away from my job. Recovering from burnout was a long and slow process and breathwork was a key factor in my recovery.
Sonya Parks is a trauma-informed breathwork facilitator, Reiki practitioner, Transformational Coach, and holistic ambassador. She’s also a mom, wife, hospice volunteer, enneagram (where my fellow helpers at), and empath. When she left her 9-5 in 2021 she was burnt out and broken. It was through her own healing experience and personal transformations that she rebranded her business and created Aligned Transformations. She created this space to help others who are right where she has been: tired, anxious, angry, and maybe even a little lost – to develop the tools and systems needed to live a balanced life.
