Volunteering

The Women and Spirituality Conference would not be possible without the help of volunteers. The volunteer planning committee’s work allows us to keep the rates low for registration for you. We also rely on many volunteers to assist us in managing the events of the weekend. If you would like to volunteer for the conference, please review the volunteer openings below and then contact Virginia Cooper at info@womenandspirituality.org.

Vending Hospitality

Help us make the experience fabulous for our exhibitors. You’ll be there to assist with any questions about load in. You will not be asked to carry any vendor’s merchandise. Work one shift and attend the rest of the conference for free!

Maker’s Space Assistant

We are particularly looking for TEENS to help with this area! Help set up, assist the community with art projects and then clean up the area so it will be ready for the next project. Sign up to work one full day at the Maker’s Space and get the other day of the conference for FREE!

Hospitality

You will have a variety of duties including greeting folks and answering their questions from stations throughout the conference area, helping folks find their workshops and assisting with pre-purchased lunch and dinner (if that falls during your time slot). Work one shift and get into the rest of the conference for FREE!

Workshop Proctors

Workshop proctors agree to assist in 3 workshops and attend the conference for free. You will select your workshops to proctor (first come, first choice).  Duties will include checking in with the speaker, making sure the room is arranged correctly, contacting AV services if speaker needs any AV assistance, introducing the speaker if they request that you do so, and offering hospitality and assistance to the speaker and workshop participants.  There will be a Workshop Coordinator and AV Tech each day to assist you and your assigned speakers if you have any questions.

We are particularly interested in offering proctor positions to youth who would sign up with an adult to co-proctor the session. Then the youth can get “on the job” training with the adult in hopes that the youth could move into leadership positions in subsequent years of the conference. Parent/child, Youth Minister/parishioner, Mentor/Mentee and any other trusted youth/adult relationship would be perfect for assisting as Workshop Proctors. The great news is that if you register as an adult/youth team, you BOTH get to attend the conference for free on the day you aren’t working!!
