Shamanic Meditation & Spirit Boat Journey

Mary Newstrom,
St. Louis Park, MN.
Session 3.

I am excited to be offering this workshop to you today. We start with the Circle of Light Shamanic Meditation, which is a technique to raise our vibrational levels. Raising our vibration is a simple technique that not only heals ourselves but opens us up for greater communication with our Guiding Spirits. As we learn to transfigure, which this technique is called, we bring our consciousness into a state of harmony and balance. As we repair damage on a spiritual level, the natural world begins to repair at the same time. Learn this profound technique that brings harmony and healing into your life. Leave with a deep understanding of connection.

Once we are energetically open through the meditation, we will then move into the second part of the workshop, which is a Spirit Boat Journey. Collectively we have more power than if we are acting alone, and the Spirit Boat operates on that premise. This technique has been used around the world in different cultures as a way to centralize power to heal and bring other benefits to the community. Through intention, the boat will move the group energetically into another dimension where you will speak and communicate with your Spirit Guide, bringing you more clarity on your soul’s purpose. No experience with shamanism is needed, only an open heart and an open mind.

Mary Newstrom, Ph.D., is a Shamanic Practitioner, Reiki Master and founder of Zenith High and creator of Spirit Flow~ shamanic study for Women. What is a Death Doula?

Anne Murphy,
Jane Whitlock,
St. Paul, MN.
Session 3.

What is a death doula? What are your options? What are the environmental considerations? What are your spiritual ideas? We cover these topics and more. Led by Anne Murphy (funeral celebrant) and Jane Whitlock (death doula), this lighthearted discussion will be an open forum to learn about your options and possibilities when it comes to celebrating a person’s life.

Anne Murphy is a Celebrant, Home Vigil Guide, and Death Educator. Anne is trained in the art of supporting individuals and families through the season of death and dying through heart-centered, compassionate, and meaningful conversations, rituals, and ceremonies. Death and dying are a part of life that can frequently cause fear, anxiety or straight up denial. By acknowledging death as a natural part of life and planning for it, thoughtfully and lovingly can support everyone involved. Anne has witnessed the calm confidence people have when they are empowered and educated to make their end of life wishes known. Though dying is not optional, the way we honor, celebrate, and relate to death is. Anne currently serves both nationally and locally. She is a founding member of the Minnesota Death Collaborative, Our Lady of Peace volunteer, Minnesota Threshold Network leadership circle and has served in various capacities for the National Home Funeral Alliance, Green Burial Council, Crescent Cove Pediatric Hospice & Respite and National Doula Alliance.

Jane Whitlock is a trained death doula. She supports individuals and families as they face the end of life. She recently did a TEDx Minneapolis on how we as a society are losing out on the gifts that death has to offer us, on the opportunity to lead lives with more meaning and love. She offers end of life doula training through Doula givers of NYC. She holds a BA in American Institutions from UW Madison. In her first life, she was a middle school social studies teacher and Athletic Director. She lost her husband after a four-month illness with kidney cancer. It was this experience that put her on the path to become a death doula.

Loving Yourself and Healing Your Spirit

Julie Lynn Joyce,
Woodbury, MN.
Session 1.

Loving yourself is not selfish. It is a bold affirmation of the value of your life. It is important to remind yourself that you deserve such love – for better health, a more positive outlook on life, and the ability to contribute to the universe the rich resources within you waiting for Soul escape.

The benefits of loving yourself are extraordinary. You will be more joyous, satisfied, liberated, empowered, ready to expand and unleash your vast potential, and able to give and receive love at a much higher level. Loving yourself is the path to freedom.

Rather than allowing yourself to be defined by other people’s actions or current circumstances, use these as opportunities for learning. You are not a victim of your circumstances. Your consciousness is carving out your experience. Stand in your spiritual power and love yourself in your true magnificence. The experience of love is liberating and never fails.

The workshop will be divided into three parts and will include storytelling, personal reflection for participants, and group sharing.

Symptoms as Messengers – Hearing the Call of the Divine Feminine

Valorie Prahl,
Cedar Falls, IA.
Session 2.

Purpose- to acquaint participants with their own power and to understand that symptoms are not to be feared but used as a pathway to transformation and self-realization. It is an introduction to universal laws and archetypal patterns that influence health and well-being.

Healing synthesis is a method to evaluate how we are connected spiritually, emotionally, and physically. It recognizes that we are spiritual beings having a human experience and our physical bodies offer clues to the hidden treasures that maximize human experience. This technique uses hands-on evaluation techniques that provide healers a pathway to help clients identify and overcome problems and patterns that create illness. No longer are our symptoms something to dread, but are opportunities for transformation and self-acceptance.

Dr. Valorie Prahl is a Doctor of Chiropractic and Certified Clinical Nutritionist in active practice for more than 35 years. Her specialty is functional health and whole-body healing. She helps people who struggle with heart disease, fibromyalgia, thyroid conditions, diabetes, weight issues, and more. Many patients just want to feel good for a lifetime with the least number of drugs. She works with people in-person, over the phone or computer from anywhere. Her frustration with the typical medical approach of suppressing symptoms without finding their underlying cause set her on a journey to discover solutions. She is fascinated by the expanding field of epigenetics, the study of DNA and how it can be positively affected. She uses her understanding to help “turn-on” processes in the body. This allows abundant energy and speedy healing. Dr. Prahl’s work as an integrative health provider allows her to serve patients with drug-free, effective strategies including nutritional recommendations, mind/body tools, and health coaching to help patients have increased energy and vitality. Dr. Prahl spent three years studying Transformative Medicine, a process integrating archetypal patterns and universal laws. She understands how people get ill and how they can progress to health and now teaches healers how to integrate this information into healing practice. Over the past several years Dr. Val has been learning and exploring ancient healing arts and Shamanic practices. The body has an innate ability to heal once the causes are illuminated.
